IBM has announced the launch of the latest ultra-high capacity LTO-8 Ultrium tape format. With up to 30TB compressed storage capacity, LTO-8 doubles the previous generation LTO-7 Ultrium systems. In addition, LTO-8 full height drives provide a 20% increase in data transfer speeds.
